I teach business and technology to some of the most creative, curious, and innovative students. My goal is to provide tech experiences to our students to promote 21st-century learning and skills with STEAM.
My students are very innovative and creative individuals.
Students in our district often have limited technology experience. My students will begin to discover and cultivate their creativity as they begin to apply their unique gifts and talents and allow them to become the innovators and global leaders of tomorrow with the stories they will be able to create and tell.
My Project
Last year, my classroom opened up our first School Book Store. It started off on a great note. Students were learning about: accounting, book keeping, stores and invoices and how to handle cash flow. However, as the school year continued we ran into a host of problems. Most students didn't carry cash and we had problems transferring cash receipts and data to digital.
We were fortunate to get a Square Reader for students, but we need a designated classroom iPad for it to function correctly and also use it and use it with our new Rocket Books to transfer paper accounting to our classroom Google Drive Folder.
My students live in a world where business and technology go together. What they learn in analogue must transfer to digital and vice versa. Having an iPad dedicated to our classroom bookstore will also students to understand, control and learn how to use the business formula of financial literacy that will not only serve them in my classroom, but their future careers as they journey out of my classroom.
