My students need a Learning Block-Nature carpet for our new approach to learning in our Reggio classroom environment!!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are so excited about learning. They are so energetic and curious just about everything. Everyday is like an adventure in our classroom. I teach at a Title I school where the students receive 100% free breakfast and lunch. Most are in single family homes and live in high poverty areas.
I have students who learn best when they are actively involved as they play, explore, experiment, discover, and create.
I actively engage my students into thinking processes and encourage them to use their questioning, investigating and problem solving skills to help them learn.
I already have the perfect spot for the carpet that I am requesting for our room. It will be the center piece and in front of the smart board where all of my students come to sit when we do the morning message, whole group lessons and share time. The carpet will be utilized fully in every capacity!! It has the perfect arrangement for classroom organization and seating spots. The donations for this carpet will help them have the alphabet literally at their fingertips.
They like to sing songs every day and sitting on the carpet will help them become more familiar with the letters of the alphabet by saying/singing the alphabet.
My students need as many opportunities as possible to see and touch the letters. By identifying and singing the letters out loud, students can build confidence and self-assurance in themselves. The students will also have the chance to include literacy activities, shape and number recognition, and matching skills on the carpet.
A carpet is a big deal for us and the nature look fits right in! Given the chance, the students would stay on the carpets all day long to do their reading, doing investigations and playing math/literacy games. We need your support to make this happen. Thanks!!!
