This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I School with students that struggle with basic everyday necessities. With that in mind, my students share a passion for learning; As a special education teacher we implement unified sports to teach a students that we are all alike. We might learn a little different but we are each able to help each other. This has been a great way for students to understand diversity and Special Olympics we are able to incorporate unified spor

The school currently runs a weekend food backpack to provide for the students over the weekend. As a school, we are the first in our state to become a community-based school that would provide the resource for parents and students. Our school participated in Special Olympics as we implemented unified sports.

My Project

Our school is a community school the first in Arizona. As a school we believe in inclusion of all students and giving students just the right amount of confidence in making a difference. The instant shade would provide protection from the heat element as we participate in fall and spring sports. This would benefit 60 students as we increase in numbers and students can learn from each other. Partners are often students who need a little confidence boost and the confidence after participation is endless for years to come. Kids are lining up to be part of the unified sports.
